This film, with its intertwining storylines, was developed through improvisation and workshop techniques with a mixture of professional actors, amateurs and children in Ennistymon.
Locky, a boy of 10, lives with Anna, who is his grandmother but who he believes is his mother. When Anna's daughter, Sally, returns home from England to reconnect with her son, his world begins to crumble. Anna has a drink problem, as well as a criminal boyfriend, Mick, who causes friction between the two women.
Before Sally can tell Locky that she is his mother, 16-year-old Clara blurts out the truth to him after a violent quarrel with her father, who suffers from shell-shock. Locky runs away, and mother and daughter will finally have to patch up their longstanding differences if they are to win him back.
