Course Profile

This course taking place on Tuesday, 14th and Wednesday, 15th May 2024, from 10am to noon each day is a crucial initiative designed to equip film industry professionals with the knowledge and skills to recognise, address, and combat microaggressions on set. Participants will identify subtle forms of discrimination and learn strategies to create a more supportive and inclusive environment within the film industry through the principles of allyship.

By the end of the session, participants will be able to: 

  • Develop the skills to recognise and combat microaggressions within the film industry. 
  • Take proactive steps to address subtle forms of discrimination and foster a more inclusive workplace. 
  • Implement strategies for addressing microaggressions in a constructive and open manner, fostering improved communication. 
  • Contribute to the creation of a workplace culture that actively addresses and prevents microaggressions, promoting a supportive environment. 
  • Understand the importance of allyship and advocacy, equipped with tools to support colleagues who may experience microaggressions in the film industry.

Participant Profile

This  2-day course is aimed at directors, producers, scriptwriters, HODs, production crew, film editors, post-production professionals, industry decision-makers and anyone interested in fostering an inclusive, supportive, and respectful culture on film sets.
