Paula Alvarez Vaccaro

Paula has produced and/or written narrative and documentary features, TV series, and shorts with world-known filmmakers such as Sally Potter, Emir Kusturica, Guillermo Arriaga, and with emerging ones such as Victoria Solano, Ana Rocha, Agustina Figueras, Edoardo de Angelis, and Aaron Brookner. With almost thirty years of experience, recent career highlights include winning at Venice Film Festival twice: in 2020 as a producer and writer of Listen; and in 2016 for her production On the Milky Road, directed by Emir Kusturica.

Paula had worked in films, series and shorts production for international companies and broadcasters such as BBC, TVE, MTV, Channel 4, and ARTE. In 2009 Paula founded her company, Pinball London, which has won over 65 international awards, working with filmmakers from over 15 countries.

She is a Sundance Alumna and one of the directors of ARTEF, the Anti-Racist task-force for European Film founded in 2020 by more than thirty institutions working in the industry. Paula is a mentor and member of EWA (European Women's Audiovisual Network), a full member of BAFTA, a member of the European Film Academy, and the first female Vice President of the European Producers’ Club.

Paula provides training on pitching, production, impact producing, gender and implicit bias for international organizations such as the British Council, Eurimages, ACE Producers and Documentary Campus.
