This initiative is designed to assist scripted feature length films and television series in their location scouting efforts in Ireland. Our primary goal is to help productions offset the initial costs of scouting locations in Ireland, with the ultimate aim of attracting international productions to choose Ireland as their filming destination.
Eligibility Criterion:
Please note that only international productions that are not already in receipt of other funding schemes from Screen Ireland are eligible to apply.
Application Oversight:

Fund Structure:
There are two distinct strands within the Scouting Support Fund, each catering to different budget ranges:
Strand 1:
• Eligibility: Qualifying Productions with a minimum estimated spend of €1,000,000 up to €5,000,000.
• Support Offered: Productions falling within this budget range can be awarded up to €1,000 towards the cost of hiring a location manager.
Strand 2:
• Eligibility: Productions with an estimated spend in excess of €5,000,000.
• Support Offered: Productions falling under this category can apply for up to 5 x days of scouting support, which is a grant of €2,500. This allocation is intended to facilitate 3 days of location scouting and an additional 2 days for the appointed location manager to lead a recce with the production’s creative team to the key proposed locations.
Additional Support: The inward production department can also assist prospective productions by providing image folders of suggested locations and look books depending on the project. Please email us to find out more.
