Productions can have a significant impact on biodiversity and the environment when they bring people, vehicles, equipment and hazardous materials onto locations in rural and urban areas.

  • Location managers should ensure that all activities related the production are in compliance with the requirements of the EU Habitats Directive, the EU Birds Directive and other relevant government policies relating to environmental protection. [S.I. No. 477/2011 - European Communities (Birds and Natural Habitats) Regulations 2011].

  • Every effort should be made to minimise disturbances to wildlife and natural habitats by controlling noise levels, reducing night-time lighting, and limiting vehicle and personnel access.
  • Any damage caused to natural habitats during production should be restored immediately.
