Additional Documentary Development Funding is for feature film documentaries and documentary series that are already in receipt of Screen Ireland funding under the First Stage Documentary Development category.
If required funding can be sought for additional research, pitching / finance market attendance and/or to create an enhanced pitch deck and trailer which elevates the project from First Stage Development to be market ready for financing and production.
Who can apply?
Irish producers (independent production companies registered in the Republic of Ireland which have an office and staff based in the Republic of Ireland) with a documentary film project or documentary series project that has already received First Stage Documentary Development funding or Documentary Development funding after 1st January 2023 (October 2022, February 2023, April 2023, and June 2023 funding rounds).
First Stage Development Funding is not a guarantee of further funding.
How to Apply
Applications can be made online using the 'Make an Application' button on this page once approved to do so by the Screen Ireland Project Manager. Applicants must read the Development Funding guidelines prior to making an application. Applications which do not meet the criteria set out in these guidelines will automatically be deemed ineligible for consideration.
Please note that the application portal closes at 1pm on the day of the application deadline.
