Section 481 Data

Section 481 is a tax credit, incentivising film and TV, animation and creative documentary production in Ireland, administered by Ireland’s Department of Culture and the Revenue Commissioners (Revenue). Production expenditure for Section 481 productions in Ireland reached a record-breaking €500 million in 2021. A high proportion of projects accessing Section 481 rely on creative Irish talent, with 68% of productions using Irish talent between 2017 and 2021.
