The Secret of Kells Retains Top Spot for Audience Award at Edinburgh
Irish animation THE SECRET OF KELLS directed by Tomm Moore and produced by Cartoon Saloon has retainted the top spot in the battle for the Audience Award at the Edinburgh Film Festival for the second day running.The film which screened on Saturday and Monday currently holds the most number of audience votes ahead of all films in the festival including UK films Crying With Laughter (Justin Molotnikov) and Moon (Duncan Jones), the French sleeper hit of last year The First Day of the Rest of Your Life (Remi Berzancon) and the US documentary that takes a look behind the scenes at Vogue magazine The September Issue (R J Cutler).
Last years winner Totsi went on to Oscar success while other previous winners include Amelie, Rabbit-Proof Fence and The Buena Vista Social Club.
The Secret of Kells is having a successful June having picked up the Jury and Audience Awards in Kecskemet in Hungary, the Audience Award in Annecy and receiving a Special Mention at the Zagreb Animation Festival in Croatia.
The Edinburgh International Film Festival runs until 28th June.
