‘Forty Foot’ Named Best Irish Short at Stranger Than Fiction Film Festival

Leticia Agudo and Aoibheann O'Sullivan have scooped the Best Irish Short sponsored by the Irish Film Board at the Stranger than Fiction Festival last weekend for their short film FORTY FOOT.

The short, which also picked up the Audience Award at the festival looks at Ireland's most famous bathing spot, Dublin's Forty Foot.  The Best Irish Short award came with a €500 prize and inclusion in the IFB's Irish Talent on Film DVD later this year which will be distributed at film events and film festivals around the world.

The awards ceremony, which took place on the 21 June - the final day of the festival, wrapped up the three day long screening fest which included Irish and International talent.

The IFI Stranger Than Fiction Festival has announced it will hold a Stranger Than Fiction screening each month so that audiences can catch up with the best new Irish and international documentaries throughout the year. The first screening, on Tuesday 14th July at 8.20pm, is of Burma VJ which tells the story of undercover Burmese video journalist's defiant and subversive challenge to the military regime. The IFI will broadcast a live satellite introduction and post-screening discussion with the filmmakers as part of this screening.
