Love & Savagery to have world premiere at Montreal World Film Festival

LOVE & SAVAGERY directed by John N. Smith is set to have its world premiere at the 33rd Montreal World Film Festival later this month.

The Irish/Canadian co-production which shot on location in County Clare and Inis Mor last year will feature in the festivals World Greats strand.

Starring Canadian actor Allan Hawco and Irish actress Sarah Greene, the film follows a young Newfoundland scientist who set off to explore Ireland's geology in 1969 only to discover his one true love.  The young woman's plans to enter the church are sorely tested, as are the community's traditions.

Love & Savagery was produced by Subotica Entertainment (Ireland), Morag Loves Company (Canada) and Park Ex Pictures (Canada) and received funding from Telefilm Canada, The Newfoundland and Labrador Film Development Corporation and the Irish Film Board.

The 33rd Montreal World Film Festival takes place from 27th August - 7th September.
