Berlinale Talent Campus 2010 Seeks Applications

Applications for next years Berlinale Talent Campus are now being sought with submissions being accepted until 7th October.

The Berlinale Talent Campus (13-18 February 2010) is an international summit of the most talented up-and-coming filmmakers and will take place at the Theater Hebbel am Ufer in Germany during the Berlin International Film Festival.

Now in its eight year the Berlinale Talent Campus will address the theme "Cinema Needs Talent: Looking for the Right People". This year's campus will tap into these thoughts and ask how the development of personal craftsmanship and the experience of choosing the right people intertwine to build gainful long-term creative collaborations.

Programme Manager Matthijs Wouter Knol says: "Teamwork is the key to success. It's about daring to ask the vital questions together in order to exceed your own limits and to keep that one essential goal in sight: to make a great film. This theme also reflects the Campus, which has, since the beginning, strived to connect young international filmmakers with their colleagues and established professionals, always in the spirit of encouraging collaborative filmmaking."

Last year Conor Ferguson, director of the award-winning short film The Wednesdays participated in the Talent Campus at the festival.  He documented his experience on a blog for the IFB website.  Check it out to see an insider's account of the campus.

This year participants are once again invited from these areas of filmmaking: actors / cinematographers / directors / editors / producers / production designers / screenwriters / sound designers / film composers / visual artists / film journalists
