Irish Feature Film FIVE MINUTES OF HEAVEN to get exclusive US screening in LA

The award winning Irish feature film FIVE MINUTES OF HEAVEN, will be shown exclusively in Los Angeles on August 28th at Landmark's Nuart Theatre, West LA (http://www.landmarktheatres.com/).

The film directed by Oliver Hirschbiegel stars Liam Neeson (Taken, Michael Collins) and James Nesbitt (Murphy's Law, Jekyll) and was shot in Northern Ireland during the summer of 2008.

The thriller, inspired by true events is a compelling story about two Ulstermen from opposite sides of sectarian conflict.  One man is a killer; the other is the brother of the dead man, who witnessed the murder as a young boy.  They are reunited on the set of a popular television reality show that hopes for a reconciliation story but underestimates the brother's thirst for revenge.  The film moves from a powerful re-enactment of the tragic, real events from Northern Ireland in 1975 to a fictional interpretation of what might happen should these two surviving men ever come face to face over 30 years later.

The political drama was a huge success at the prestigious 2009 Sundance Film Festival receiving two awards for World Cinema Directing Award: Dramatic for Hirschbiegel and the World Cinema Screenwriting Award for Guy Hibbert (Omagh).

Produced by Eoin O'Callaghan, Ed Guiney and Andrew Lowe for Big Fish Films, Ruby Films and Element Pictures, it was co-financed by BBC Films, Pathé, Northern Ireland Screen and the Irish Film Board.
