Telegael Media Group and Brown Bag Films Nominated for the Cartoon Tributes 2009

The European Association of Animation Film's annual awards for outstanding contribution to the European animation industry, Cartoon Tributes 2009, will be announced on September 25th in the Norwegian city of Stavanger.

Irish companies Telegael Media Group and Brown Bag Films are two of twelve finalists to compete for Broadcaster, Distributor/Investor and Producer of the Year. The winners of each of the three categories will be selected by the over 700 participants at Cartoon Forum, the annual European meeting point to support the co-production, financing and distribution of animation series for television and new media platforms.

Telegael Media Group is a finalist for Investor/Distributor of the Year for its constant collaboration with international animation producers, broadcasters and distributors in co-producing and co-financing high-quality children's television animated series.

Ireland will be also represented in the Producer of the Year category by Brown Bag Films, an award winning animation studio producing high quality 2D and 3D animation. Based in Dublin Brown Bag's recent productions include series such as "Wobblyland", "I'm an Animal" and "Olivia". The company currently has a number of television series in development with international co-producers and broadcasters.

Created in 2006, the Cartoon Tributes have gained a prestigious reputation for giving professionals from the animation industry the opportunity to honour their own colleagues.

The 20th Cartoon Forum will take place in the city of Stavanger, Norway, from September 22 - 25 with the support of EU MEDIA Programme, the County of Rogaland, the cities of Stavanger and Sandnes, the Ministry of Culture and Church Affairs, the Norwegian Film Institute, Nordisk Film & TV Fond, Innovation Norway, Sparebanken 1 SR-Bank and NRK.
