Cairo Time produced by Samson Films and Foundry Films wins at Toronto Film Festival

The Best Canadian Feature Film honours at the Toronto Film Festival went to Ruba Nadda's CAIRO TIME last weekend.

Produced by David Collins of Samson Films (Eden, Once) and Daniel Iron of Foundry Films, the Egypt-set feature stars Patricia Clarkson, Tom McCamus and Alexander Siddig and examines a brief, unexpected love affair.

The jurors described CAIRO TIME as a "superbly directed lyrical waltz of longing and desire across disparate worlds."

Irish creative talent involved in the production included composer Niall Byrne (The Honeymooners) and production designer Tamara Conboy (Once).

Following the win Managing Director of Samson Films, David Collins commented "I'm delighted for Ruba in particular who has worked so hard to get this film made."
