Irish short films screen at venues in Dublin for Culture Night

Two venues in Dublin will be screening a variety of IFB funded live action and animated short films on Friday evening, September 25th.

The Light House Cinema in Smithfield will be screening animated shorts which premiered at the Galway Film Fleadh in July. The Polish Language which picked up the Best Short Animation prize at the Galway Fleadh as well as Donkey directed by Louise Bagnall, John McCloskey's Guns, Bees and Tadpoles, Adrien Merigeau's Old Fangs, Trolley Boy directed by Teemu Auersalo and David Quin's T'was a Terrible Hard Work will all screen on the night. These shorts were produced as part of the Frameworks scheme which is co-funded by the IFB, the Arts Council and RTÉ.

There will be two screening sessions in the Light House Cinema, at 6.30pm and 7.30pm. Tickets will be available at the cinema on a first come first served basis from 6.00pm on September 25 and admission is free of charge.

Meanwhile Filmbase in Temple Bar will screen Brian Durnin's Of Best Intentions, Eoin Ryan's Uncle Bill's Barrel and Rory Bresnihan's The Man Inside which was named the Best European Short Film at the European Independent Film Festival.

Dublin Culture Night will be a night of entertainment, discovery and adventure as over 120 arts and cultural organisations open their doors until late with hundreds of free events, tours, talks and performances.  It takes place on Friday, September 25th.
