Short Irish Comedy at the IFI

A selection of Irish short action and animated films will be screening this Saturday 20th September as part of the Irish Film Institute’s (IFI) 11th Open Day.

This year, a selection of ten classic comedy films will be screened and the popular Surprise Film slot has been re-introduced. Each film will be preceded by one of Bord Scannán na hÉireann’s Short Shorts or Frameworks films.

The full schedule is as follows:

All screenings are free and tickets (limited to two per person per film), can only be collected on the day. The box-office will open at 10am and tickets will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

Short Shorts, funded by Bord Scannán na hÉireann aims to produce ultra short pieces which can be used to promote Irish film-making and Bord Scannán na hÉireann / the Irish Film Board. Frameworks is another short film scheme which aims to add to the range and scope of Irish animation. Frameworks is co-funded by Bord Scannán na hÉireann, RTE and the Arts Council.
