Irish co-production Triage at Seville European Film Festival
TRIAGE starring Colin Farrell opened the Seville European Film Festival earlier this month and screened along with two other Irish films KISSES and THE HERD during the festival.Danis Tanovic's TRIAGE starring Colin Farrell screened in the festival's Official Selection competition. The film follows the story of Mark (Colin Farrell), a war photographer, who returns home from Kurdistan without his friend and colleague David (Jamie Sives). As time goes on, it becomes clear that Mark holds the key to the truth of David's disappearance. The feature was produced by Alan Moloney with Parallel Films with funding from the IFB.
KISSES directed by Lance Daly screened as part of the European Film Academy Selection. The film has already had festival success having screened at some of the worlds most prestigious festivals such as the Toronto, Locarno and Telluride film festivals. It has also won numerous awards such as the Audience Award at the Miami Film Festival and the two IFTA wins (Best Director, Best Editing) at this years IFTA awards. It was produced by Macdara Kelleher with Fastnet Films and was funded by the IFB, Film I Vast, the BCI, TV3 and Zentropa.
Also screening at the festival was Ken Wardrop's short documentary film THE HERD which was one of 13 films to compete for the Best European Short Film of the Year award. The short has been nominated for the Best Short Film at the European Film Awards which takes place next month.
The festival which featured over 150 European films aims to promote European culture, paying particular attention to emerging European cinema.
