Cracks heads for US release through IFC Films

IFC Films has picked up North American rights to the Irish co-production CRACKS, the feature directorial debut of Jordan Scott and plans a simultaneous theatrical and VOD release next year.

The thriller, loosely based on Sheila Kohler's novel was co-written by Scott, Ben Court and Caroline Ip.  It stars Eva Green (Casino Royale) as a free-thinking and glamorous young teacher at an all-girls boarding school and Juno Temple (Atonement), Imogen Poots (28 Weeks Later) and Maria Valverde (La Flaqueza del Bolchevique) as the students vying for their teacher's attention.

The film which filmed in Dublin and Wicklow last year premiered in September at the Toronto International Film Festival and was also officially selected for the London Film Festival last month.

CRACKS was produced by Andrew Lowe of Element Pictures with Scott Free, Future Films, Industry Entertainment and Killer Films.  HandMade Films International is handling foreign sales. Studio Canal will distribute in France and Benelux and Optimum will release in the UK.
