New Irish Film 'My Brothers' Begins Production in Cork

The new Irish film MY BROTHERS, produced with funding from Bord Scannán na hÉireann and directed by Paul Fraser is currently filming on location in Cork.

Written by William Collins, the film is the story of three young brothers' epic quest to replace their dying father's beloved watch over the Hallowe'en weekend of 1987.  It is an off-beat and moving journey that can only lead them home. It stars newcomers Timmy Creed, Paul Courtney and TJ Griffin as well as a supporting cast including Kate Ashfield, Don Wycherley, Sarah Green and Eamonn Hunt.

Other Irish crew working on the project include director of photography PJ DIllon, production designer Mark Geraghty and editor Emer Reynolds with the film due to complete principal photography before Christmas.

Produced by Rebecca O'Flanagan and Rob Walpole (The Eclipse) through Rubicon Films, the film was funded by the Irish Film Board, Windmill Lane and RTÉ.

Rebecca O'Flanagan said "We are very excited to have begun production on this project. It is a very special and moving script and the young actors are bringing great life and humour to the characters.  We are delighted to be back in filming Cork where we had such a great experience filming "The Eclipse".

MY BROTHERS is the sixth film to shoot on location in Cork over the last few years.  Other films which chose Cork as a film location include THE ECLIPSE directed by Conor McPherson starring Ciaran Hinds and Aidan Quinn; THE RUNWAY directed by Ian Power, ONDINE directed by Neil Jordan starring Colin Farrell, SNAP a new film from the producers of ONCE directed by Carmel Winters and STRENGTH AND HONOUR starring Michael Madson, Vinnie Jones and Patrick Bergin.
