Brendan Gleeson nominated for a Golden Globe
Irish actor Brendan Gleeson has been nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture Made for Television category for his role as Winston Churchill in Into the Storm.
Gleeson picked up an Emmy Award for this role earlier this year and it is the second year running that he has been nominated for a Golden Globe. Last year he was nominated for his role in In Bruges for which he was also nominated for a BAFTA for.
He will face stiff competition from Kevin Bacon (Taking Chance), Kenneth Branagh (Wallander, One Step Behind), Jeremy Irons (Georgia O'Keeffe) and Chiwetel Eiofor (Endgame) in the Golden Globe category.
The Golden Globes will take place next month.
