Shooting Stars 2010 - Change of Actor

It is with regret that EFP have to announce that the Irish actor Robert Sheehan will no longer be able to accept his award as a European Shooting Star at the Berlinale Film Festival 2010.  Robert's screen career continues to gather momentum and his schedule has quickly filled for the first part of 2010. He will be filming the leading role in the new independent film KILLING BONO (aka I WAS BONO'S DOPPELGANGER) directed by Nick Hamm throughout January and February 2010 in Belfast and his shooting schedule unfortunately conflicts with the Shooting Stars event.

Commenting on this news Robert Sheehan said "I send sincere regrets to the organisers and the judges of the Shooting Stars Award, I am, of course, hugely disappointed that I will not be able to attend this event. I was deeply honoured to be selected for this prestigious award and I send my very best wishes to all the other Shooting Stars and the festival."

This is, however, good news for the young French star, actress Anaïs Demoustier, who now will be presented as French Shooting Star 2010 at the upcoming Berlinale.  Her film career began with Michael Haneke's Time of the Wolf (Le Temps Du Loup, 2003).  Subsequent films include The Beautiful Person (La Belle Personne) by Christophe Honoré, 2007, and Ground Ups (Les Grandes Personnes) by Anna Novion, 2007, which - amongst other awards - in 2009 brought her a César nomination for Most Promising Actress.  Furthermore she has been selected for the César 2010/ Most Promising Actress for her performance in Be Good (Sois Sage) by Juliette Garcias, 2007.  Anaïs Demoustier is currently shooting Sponsoring by Malgorzata Szumowska with Juliette Binoche.

The Jury commented on her outstanding performance in Be Good (Sois Sage):

"This is an actress with a transfixing presence that completely dominated the film, without overwhelming the intentions of the filmmaker.  While remaining and enigmatic figure, she is about to reveal the heart of this troubled girl."
