Irish documentary Adhlacóirà (The Undertakers) to be aired on TG4 this week
The Irish documentary Adhlacóirí (The Undertakers), directed by Mac Dara O' Curraidhín, is to be screened on TG4 this Wednesday 13th January at 9:30pm.Adhlacóirí is a poetic study of the unique characters that deal with the inevitability of death on a daily basis, the rural undertaker. It tells the story of the lives and work of those who deal in death and the localities they serve; the O' Cualain brothers from Connemara, Stiofain O' Domhnall in Donegal and Daithi O' Cadhla in An Rinn. We see the traditions at work in each part of the country, what brought these men into this business and how it affects their own attitude to life and death.
This intimate portrait was filmed by Rónán Fox, produced by Martha O'Neill for Wildfire Film and Television Productions and was co-funded by the Irish Film Board, the Broadcasting Commission of Ireland and TG4.
Adhlacóirí (The Undertakers) airs on Wednesday 13th January at 9:30pm on TG4.
