Location Services and the Regional Film Network
The Irish Film Board in co-operation with our partners in the Network, and our colleagues in Fáilte Ireland have provided grass-root support on a number of recent productions which have been shot outside of Dublin over the past year.COWBOYS AND ANGELS, produced by Wide Eye Films was shot in Limerick and will be premiering at the Cork Film Festival this year; and AYODIHIYA, a Bollywood production was shot on location in Wicklow.
Other projects shot on location around the country include WARRIOR WOMAN, a documentary for National Geographic starring actress Lucy Lawless (Xena Warrior Princess), which was shot in Mayo; SAINT PATRICK, a documentary on the St. Patrick’s days celebrations for US television which was shot in Galway, and IRELAND, a documentary for Swiss television which was shot in Donegal and Meath, as well as large number of still shoots across the country.
The Film Boards Location Services Unit is the hub office at the centre of a Network of Regional Film Offices and Commissions. Membership on this network has doubled in the last two years and to date ten Counties have joined.
