IFB Funded Projects Nominated for Celtic Media Awards

IDENTITIES, FIVE MINUTES OF HEAVEN, RASAI NA GAILLIMHE and IF I SHOULD FALL BEHIND have all received nominations for the Celtic Media Festival in April.

The Celtic Media Festival is an annual three-day celebration of broadcasting, film talent and excellence from Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Cornwall and Brittany, which aims to promote the languages and cultures of the Celtic countries on screen and in broadcasting.

IDENTITIES, a documentary which charts the multicoloured, multicultural transgender community in Ireland, was directed by Vittoria Colonna and produced by Underground Films has been nominated in the Factual Single category.

Picking up a nomination in the Drama Series section is the Irish language television series RASAI NA GALLAIMHE, which was directed by Robert Quinn and produced by Great Western Films. 

The award-winning feature film FIVE MINUTES OF HEAVEN, directed by Oliver Hirschbiegel, and produced by Element Pictures has been nominated in the Feature Length Drama category.

The short film IF I SHOULD FALL BEHIND, is nominated in the Short Drama category and tells the story of a haunted father struggling to make amends as his family falls apart.  The film was directed by Morgan Bushe and produced by Fastnet Films.

All four projects received funding from the Irish Film Board.

The Celtic Media Festival takes place in Newry, Nothern Ireland from 21-23 April 2010.
