One Hundred Mornings Receives Special Mention at Slamdance Film Festival

ONE HUNDRED MORNINGS directed by Conor Horgan has received a Special Mention as part of the Grand Jury prize-giving at the Slamdance Film Festival in Park City, Utah.

Commenting the on the recognition from teh festival director COnor Horgan said "Slamdance has been a fantastic experience for us and we are absolutely delighted with this accolade for the film."

Selected as one of 10 feature films screened at the festival in the Narrative Feature Competition line-up out of over 5000 applicants, the film received rave reviews from the critics such as Filmmaker Magazine which described the film as:

"both haunting lyrical and subtly topical"
"gorgeously photographed, delicately paced"
"an insidiously intelligent post-apocalyptic drama... achingly humane and stringently observed in its own quiet way"

The Slamdance Film Festivals main focus is on films by first time directors with low budgets and its lineup of narrative and documentary films are programmed in the spirit of its motto ‘by filmmakers, for filmmakers'.  Previous filmmakers to debut at the festival include Christopher Nolan (The Dark Knight) and Greg Mottola (Superbad).

Starring Ciaran McMenamin, Alex Reid, Rory Keenan and Kelly Campbell, ONE HUNDRED MORNINGS is set in a world upended by a complete breakdown of society where two couples hide out in a lakeside cabin hoping to survive the crisis.

Screened the Galway Film Fleadh last year, it was widely praised with film critic Donald Clarke naming it ‘The finest domestic feature I saw at the Galway Film Fleadh'.  It has received positive reviews from the press with an Irish Times review describing it and ‘both harrowing and humorous' and ‘beautifully shot in muted, earthy colours' and Gaelmovies.com agrees saying "well written, stongly acted... the film doesn't just have some beautiful scenery, it's all beautifully shot".

ONE HUNDRED MORNINGS which was produced by Blinder Films under the Catalyst Project with funding from IFB, Filmbase, TV3 and BCI will be screening at the upcoming Jameson Dublin International Film Festival.
