Hasan Everywhere Wins Two Awards at the Digital Media Awards
The IFB funded short animation HASAN EVERYWHERE has scooped the Best Use of Film or Animation as well as the overall Grand Prix award at the Digital Media Awards which took place in the Crowne Plaza Hotel last night Wednesday 25th.
HASAN EVERYWHERE, written and directed by Andrew Kavanagh and produced by Ciara Gillen for Kavaleer Productions, explores the story of an Israeli novelist and a Palestinian artist, who strike up a friendship during a freezing New York winter. A passionate friendship which was impossible at home on their neighbouring crescent but flourished abroad.
This animated film was funded under the Frameworks scheme which is co-financed by the IFB, the Arts Council and RTÉ.
The Digital Media Awards raise awareness of the emerging digital media sector in Ireland and act as a showcase for the varied dynamic works being created by companies across the broad spectrum of categories in Digital Media. 21 prizes are awarded to companies, people, and organisations producing the most stylish, creative and pioneering work in their field.
These awards are a further boost to the recent success stories of Irish animation, following in the footsteps of the Oscar nominations and screenings at Sundance Film Festival.
