HIS & HERS scoops Audience Award at JDIFF
Ken Wardop's documentary HIS & HERS has scooped the Audience Award at this year's Jameson Dublin International Film Festival. This is the third year in a row that an Irish film has won the audience award with the Oscar nominated The Secret of Kells and the surfing documentary Waveriders picking up the award in the last couple of years.HIS & HERS also won the Best Documentary Award at the Dublin Film Critics Circle Awards over the weekend where cinematographer Kate McCullough was awarded their inaugural Michael Dwyer Discovery Award for her work on the documentary.
The Jameson Dublin International Film Festival awarded the festival career achievement award, the Volta, to Ciarán Hinds, Patricia Clarkson and Kristin Scott Thomas who all attended the festival to receive the accolade.
Produced by Andrew Freedman with funding from the Irish Film Board, HIS & HERS is a beautiful documentary which explores women's relationships with men by visiting moments from the lives of 70 female characters. The film received much critical acclaim when it screened at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year.
