A Host of Irish Films to Screen at Chicago Irish Film Festival this weekend

An impressive mix of IFB funded feature films, documentaries and short films will screen at the 11th Chicago Irish Film Festival which takes place from March 5-10th

Tony O'Donaghue's award-winning short film A FILM FROM MY PARISH - 6 FARMS will be shown at the opening night reception.  Also scheduled for screening is THE RACE, which was directed by André Nebe, produced by Grand Pictures and stars Colm Meaney. 

CIRCUS MAN, which documents a circus family travelling the roads of Ireland, written and directed by Jill Beardsworth and Keith Walsh will be showing in the Documenting Ireland: Short Films section.  THE LEGEND OF LIAM CLANCY, directed by Alan Gilsenan and produced by Anna Rodgers, who will be in attendance for a Q&A session following the screening. 

Featured in the closing screening of award winning short films is the musical DENTAL BREAKDOWN, directed by Ian Power, which was funded through the IFB Short Shorts scheme as well as TROLLEY BOY, a short animation which was written and directed by Teemu Auersalo, produced by Glimpse Digital and was financed through the Frameworks scheme.

The Chicago Irish Film Festival is one of only a handful of Irish Film Festivals in the US.  Screening features, documentaries, shorts and animations, the festival presents a truly representative selection of Irish film, from the classics to the contemporary.

The 11th Chicago Irish Film Festival will be held from March 5th-10th
