Irish Comedy Happy Ever Afters to go on Release in U.K Cinemas on 19th March
The Irish feature film Happy Ever Afters will be released in cinemas across the UK on March 19th.
Written and directed by Stephen Burke and produced by Lesley McKimm for Newgrange Pictures, Happy Ever Afters tells the story of two couples who are married in different churches on the same day. Maura marries Wilson, a Nigerian immigrant and Freddie marries the uptight Sophie for the second time. However, trouble begins when the two weddings collide with both receptions booked for the same hotel and the fun really starts when the immigration police arrive. The film stars Sally Hawkins, Tom Riley and IFTA nominees Jade Yourell, Simon Delaney and Ger Ryan.
The film has now been sold to 14 territories worldwide including Lucky Red (Italy), Haut et Court (France), Senator & Degeto (Germany) and Hopscotch (Australia).
It has been receiving glowing reviews upon its release with Screen International declaring that "Sally Hawkins helps give the Irish screwball comedy a boost thanks to her quirky and infectious charm" and "...the result is an unexpected comedy of confusions with a goodly amount of slapstick humour thrown in for good measure."
Happy Ever Afters will be released in U.K cinemas by Verve Pictures from 19th March.
