Oscailt and Short Cuts Win at Cork
IFB short film schemes were the big winners at the Cork film festival this year. John Hayes scooped the Claire Lynch Award for Best First Short by an Irish Director for his film TWO FAT LADIES., and OCRAS, one of this year's Oscailt shorts, picked up the UIP award for Best Live Action Short. OCRAS was directed by Sean Maguire.TWO FAT LADIES was funded by the IFB Short Cuts film scheme, which aims to encourage new talent in all areas of film production. The scheme is co-funded by Bord Scannán na hÉireann/The Irish Film Board and Radio TelefÃs Éireann.
OCRAS was funded as part of the Oscailt scheme which aims to encourage filmmaking in the Irish Language and is co-funded by Bord Scannán na hÉireann/The Irish Film Board and TG4.
