Award Winning Irish Short The Sound of People to Screen on RTÉ 2
The award winning Irish short film The Sound of People will be broadcast on RTÉ2 this Monday 29th at 11:25pm.
The short film, written and directed by Simon Fitzmaurice, tells the story of a moment in the life of an eighteen year old boy. In the time and space of a single moment, Stephen makes contact with his past and future staring into the face of his own death, becomes aware that he is alive.
The Sound of People has been extremely well received on the international festival circuit having previously screened at the prestigious Sundance Film Festival, as well as scooping the Special Award of the Jury at Huesca Film Festival in Spain, the Jury Award at the Festival Opaclice Paris and Best Short Film at the Belfast Film Festival amongst others.
The film was produced by Noreen Donohoe-Fitzgerald for Diva Media and was shot on location and at Ardmore Studios by Ivan McCullough. It was financed by RTÉ and Filmbase and received print support funding from the IFB.
