Conor Ferguson’s ATLANTIC Proving Hugely Successful at International Festivals

The Irish short film Atlantic, written and directed by Conor Ferguson (The Wednesdays), has continued its international success, picking up two nominations for the California Independent Film Festival as well as being selected for screening at Newport Beach Festival and Manchester Kinofilm Festival later this month.

Atlantic is a poignant, atmospheric tale of a lonely farmer played by Liam Cunningham (Perrier's Bounty, The Wind That Shakes The Barley), who passes his  days, unaware of the letter that's on its way from the woman he once loved. A letter that could change his life. But only if he gets to read it.

This intense, fast-cutting drama has previously scooped the Grand Prix award at Trés Court  Film Festival in Paris, was Highly Commended at TCM Classic Shorts and was officially selected for screening at Palm Springs Short Festival.  It has now been nominated for Best Mini Short and Best Cinematography for Cedric Culliton at the prestigious California Independent Film Festival.

It was produced by AnneMarie Naughton for Park Films (The Fading Light) and was funded through the Irish Film Board's Short Shorts film scheme.

Atlantic can be seen in:

  • California Independent Film Festival - April 22nd-25th
  • Newport Beach Festival  - April 19th-29th
