A Shine Of Rainbows Set For Release in US Cinemas This Weekend

A Shine of Rainbows directed by Vic Sarin goes on release in selected cinemas across the US this weekend.

The award-winning film, which stars Aidan Quinn, Connie Nelson and John Bell, tells how a lonely orphan's life is transformed by an extraordinary woman who defies her dour husband's disapproval, and suppresses the tragic truth about her own future, to teach the boy to conquer grief and discover the magic in nature and in himself.

The film has already received much critical acclaim, having picked up the Audience Award at the Heartland Film Festival in Indianapolis, Indiana following its US premiere and was also awarded First Prize from the Chicago International Children's Film Festival for an English Language Feature Film.  It has also previously screened at both Toronto and London Film Festivals.

An official Irish/Canadian co-production, the film was shot in Donegal and was produced by James Flynn for Octagon Films (Ireland) and Tina Pehme and Kim Roberts for Sepia Films (Canada).  It was co-financed by the IFB, Telefilm, Corus Family Feature Fund, Shaw Rocket Fund and Harold Greenberg Fund.

  • Landmark Keystone Art Cinema 7 - Indianapolis, IN
