Calling All Filmmakers: Deadline Open For Submissions to L.A Irish Film Festival

The deadline for submissions to the 3rd annual Los Angeles Irish Film Festival (LAIFF) has been announced.  The festival kicks off from 30th September - 1st October in Los Angeles with submissions accepted until Thursday 1st July.

The LAIFF celebrates the Irish passion for story telling and deep-rooted love for the tellers of tales. A rich and ancient tradition that started around the hearth of every Irish household, our cultural passion for storytelling has found its way onto the world stage through the medium of film.

Cutting edge cinematic technology and aesthetic vision may have taken the place of flickering hearth flames, but it's that same truth seeking curiosity that drives the modern Irish storyteller into exploring the universally fascinating depths of the human condition.

A host of Irish features, documentaries, animation and short films were screened at last year's festival, with the programme including the Oscar nominated The Secret of Kells, Cherrybomb, the critically acclaimed Waveriders, Kisses, Identities, and the award-winning short animation Granny O'Grimms Sleeping Beauty.
