Award-winning His & Hers Set for Irish Cinema Release This Week
Ken Wardop's award-winning Irish feature film His & Hers is set for theatrical release in selected cinemas nationwide from Friday 18th June.
His & Hers is an enchanting yet intimate observation which explores a woman's relationships with the men in her life - father, husband, son, boyfriend. It follows 70 women in kitchens, living-rooms and hallways across the Irish midlands, from little girls to old women.
Produced by Andrew Freedman for Venom Films and financed by Bord Scannán na hÉireann/ the Irish Film Board, this intimate gender and cultural snapshot premiered at the Galway Film Fleadh last year, where it picked up the Best Irish Film award.
Since then the film has been hugely successful both at home and on an international level. It won the Audience Award at the Jameson Dublin International Film Festival and Best Cinematography Award at the prestigious Sundance Film Festival. It recently picked up a Special Jury Prize in Non-Fiction Storytelling at RiverRun International Film Festival in the States as well as officially selected for the recent Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Festival. It is also set to screen at Guth Gafa festival next month and will be competing in the Silver Spectrum section at Silver Docs festival at the end of this month.
