One Hundred Mornings and Circus Born to Show at Flat Lakes Festival

Conor Horgan's One Hundred Mornings and Circus Born, the documentary directed by Matt Skinner, will screen at the Flat Lakes Literary & Arts Festival in Clones, Co. Monaghan this week from 4th -6th June.

One Hundred Mornings is an apocalyptic drama about two couples hiding out trying to escape the consequences of a breakdown of society. Their relationships deteriorate as supplies grow scarce and they receive increasing threats from hungry outsiders. To have a chance of survival, they each have to make choices they never imagined would confront them.

Produced by Katie Holly, who was selected as the Irish Producer on the Move at this year's Cannes Film Festival, the film had its world première at the Slamdance Film Festival in Utah in the US where it got a Special Jury mention.  It has also previously screened at the Galway Film Fleadh, the Jameson Dublin International Film Festival and the Dingle Film Festival.

One Hundred Mornings was co-financed by the IFB, Filmbase, TV3 and BAI. It will be the closing film at the Flat Lakes Festival screening at 7:00pm on Sunday 6th June.

Circus Born tells the story about life in the travelling village that revolves around the Big Top, getting to know the extended family of three generations who carry on the tradition of Ireland's oldest travelling circus.  It questions why someone would chose to follow such a difficult and challenging way of life.

The documentary was produced by Tom Maguire and Matt Skinner for Borderline Productions and stars many members of the Fossetts Circus.  It received funding from the IFB and the Arts Council of Ireland.

Circus Born can be seen at 12:15pm on Sunday 6th June.
