Galway Film Fleadh calls on budding filmmakers to enter the Pitching Award
The 22nd Galway Film Fleadh which will take place from Tuesday July 6 to Sunday July 11 is delighted to announce that its very popular Pitching Award will once again take place during the week of the Fleadh.
The Pitching Award is a great opportunuity for all aspiring filmmakers to experience the thrill of making a pitch to an esteemed panel of judges and the overall winner will receive a price of €3000 which will enable the filmmaker to further develop their script and enhance their filmmaking skills.
Applicants must submit four copies of a one page (500 word) story idea for screen (any applications longer than specified will not be accepted). All copies must be submitted blind ie. name must not appear on story pages.
Entries will be read by a designated panel and the five best will be selected to be pitched by the writer in front of an audience at the Galway Film Fleadh on Sunday 11th July.
A Panel of judges will select the winner and the award will be presented that evening during the Awards Ceremony.

The Galway Film Fleadh has long provided a platform for emerging talent and screenwriter Will Collins won the Galway Film Fleadh Pitching Award in 2007 for his orginal pitch of My Brothers.
The Fleadh is thrilled that a script which started as a concept for the Pitching Award has come to fruition and that My Brothers will now open the 22nd Galway Film Fleadh.
