Irish Comedy Zonad Released on DVD from 18th June
Zonad, the light-hearted comedy written and directed by John Carney (Once) and Kieran Carney will be released on DVD nationwide from Friday 18th June.
This humorous tale stars Simon Delaney (Bachelor's Walk, Happy Ever Afters) as an escaped convict whose arrival in the small town of Ballymoran coincides with a rare comet sighting. As a result, the gullible local community hail him as an alien from another galaxy. Zonad decides to play along but eventually his philandering ways rouses suspicion. Will his ruse be uncovered? And what of his fellow rehab escapee, Bonad, who Zonad ditched?
Zonad premiered at the Galway Film Fleadh last year, where it was billed as a potential cult hit by critics at Variety magazine. It was officially selected to screen at the celebrated Tribeca Film Festival in New York City earlier this year.
Produced by Ed Guiney, Andrew Lowe and John McDonnell for Element Pictures, Zonad was funded by the IFB, RTÉ, Screen Scene and Element Pictures.
Zonad will be available to buy on DVD from Friday 18th June.
