Film Critics and Audiences Love Irish Documentary His & Hers
Ken Wardrop's enchanting feature documentary HIS & HERS has been receiving critical acclaim and winning increased audience figures since its release in cinemas on June 18th.
Produced by Andrew Freedman for Venom Films and financed by Bord Scannán na hÉireann/ the Irish Film Board the film explores a woman's relationships with the men in her life - father, husband, son, boyfriend. It follows 70 women in kitchens, living-rooms and hallways across the Irish midlands, from little girls to old women.
The film featured in the top ten of the Irish Box Office for the second week running despite six new titles being released last weekend including Shrek and Get Him To The Greek. In fact, its takings at the Box Office increased by 10% in its second week of release which is a huge achievement as a drop of less than 40% is seen as positive in the industry.
Due to its positive Box Office performance and critical acclaim, the films distributor Element Pictures Distribution has increased print numbers with the film now showing in 10 cinemas across the country.
