Special Screening of ‘A Kiss For Jed Wood’ added to Galway Fleadh line-up

Maurice Linnane's 'A Kiss for Jed Wood' has been added to the line-up of this year's Galway Film Fleadh.  The Irish film which stars Mark O'Halloran (Adam and Paul), Jayne Wisener (Sweeney Todd) and Lee Arenberg (Pirates of the Caribbean) will now have a special screening on Friday 9th July.

Co-written by Maurice Linnane and Barry Devlin the film follows Orla who, as her prize on a TV game show, is sent to New York to get a kiss from country superstar Jed Wood. Ray Timmons, a forty year old with a great future behind him, is dispatched as her cameraman. In New York they meet up with porn film sound recordist Mike and start the quest for the elusive Jed Wood. They are wildly unsuccessful but two events change the course of their quest whilst their odd odyssey is taken up and championed by DJ Carter on radio station WSNX. When Ray decides to stay and rescue Orla from a fate worse than death, neither of them get quite what they want - but they do perhaps get what they need.

Produced by Tim Palmer for Ignition Film Productions, it was funded by the IFB, RTÉ, Ardmore Sound and Egg Post Production and has been picked up by Locomotive Entertainment worldwide who are releasing it in the autumn.

See A Kiss For Jed Wood on Friday 9th July at 5.15pm in the Omniplex, Galway.
