Award-Winning Kisses to go on Selected U.S Cinema Release this month
The multi award-winning Irish feature Kisses, written and directed by Lance Daly, is set for release in U.S cinemas from Friday 16th July.
The film has proved a huge success on the international festival circuit, having been officially selected for screening at some of the world's most renowned festivals including Toronto, Locarno and Telluride and having also scooped the Audience Award at the Miami Film Festival.
Kisses follows two young children who decide to run away from their dysfunctional homes and spend a night on the streets of Dublin's inner city. Daly's vision of Dublin, as seen through the innocent eyes of our protagonists, is a kaleidoscope of magic, wonder and mystery. But as the night wears on, and Dublin takes on a darker character, the two kids have to rely on the kindness of strangers, the songs of Bob Dylan and their trust in each other to survive.
Produced by Macdara Kelleher with Fastnet Films (Colony, The Runway) the Irish box office hit was co-financed the IFB, Film I Vast, the BAI, TV3 and Zentropa.
New York-based Oscilloscope Laboratories are handling the North American rights, whose slate includes So Yong Kim's Treeless Mountain, Scott Hamilton Kennedy's The Garden, Kelly Reichardt's Wendy and Lucy and Anders Ostergaard's Burma VJ.
Kisses opens in Laemmle's on Sunset 5, Los Angeles from Friday 16th July.
