Have You Discovered the IFB Short Film Channel?

It's not even six months in existence and already the Irish shorts on the IFB Short Film Channel are approaching 26,500 views.

The channel, hosted on the IFB Media Hub (http://www.thisisirishfilm.ie/) features a wide mix of live action and animation shorts in English and Irish produced through the IFB's various short film schemes.

The exciting channel currently boasts over 100 short films, but we are constantly adding content to this and hope to eventually have all the short films which have been funded by the IFB over the last 10 years accessible for viewing online.

The catalogue of short films include a host of Oscar-nominated shorts such as Ruairí Robinson' Fifty Percent Grey, Cathal Gaffney's Give Up Yer Aul Sins, Steph Green's New Boy and Granny O'Grimm's Sleeping Beauty, directed by Nicky Phelan and written and performed by Kathleen O'Rourke.

Our multi-award winning shorts include Chicken, directed by Barry Dignam, Agricultural Report, directed by Melina Padua, An Teanga Runda, directed by Brian Durnin, Joyriders directed by Rebecca Daly, Pilgrim, directed by Matthew Darragh, The Faeries of Blackheath Woods, directed by Ciaran Foy, The White Dress, directed by Vanessa Gildea, and Frankie, directed by Darren Thornton, among many many others.

From grumpy grannies to naughty nuns, from an unfortunate baby born with his head on backwards to an equally unfortunate baby who gets shaved, from the nightmarish consequences of one man's vasectomy to three young boys eager to lose their virginity, from a lonely scarecrow abandoned in a field to a lonely fridge abandoned in a desert....

If you like Irish film and like shorts, you'll love the Short Film Channel as there is something to suit all tastes!  If you haven't yet discovered the channel, check it out.
