His & Hers Continues Irish Cinematic Success

The multi award-winning HIS & HERS directed by Ken Wardrop has proved an Irish box office hit since being released in Irish cinemas over two months ago.

The award-winning Irish film is now the most successful documentary in Ireland since Michael Moore's Fahrenheit 9/11 in 2004.

Not only is it still in cinemas 12 weeks after it opened on June 18th on eight prints, it has also passed the €300,000 point on the Irish box office this week and has been the most lucrative film yet screened at Dublin's Light House Cinema.

This in part was due to Access Cinema which, devoted to regional distribution, ensured the film got to parts of the country previously untouched by independent or art-house films.

HIS & HERS is a profoundly affectionate appreciation for woman in all her versatility.  Following sequentially from little girls to old women, the film captures the voice of 70 women, exploring the relationships with the men in their life as they speak fondly and intimately about fathers, boyfriends, husbands and sons.

Produced by Andrew Freedman for Venom Films, the film was financed by the IFB/BSÉ.
