Hollywood to Celebrate Irish Film at the LA Irish Film Festival
Irish film and culture will be celebrated in Hollywood later this month at the Los Angeles Irish Film Festival which takes place September 30th - October 3rd with the support of Bord Scannán na hÉireann/the Irish Film Board and Culture Ireland.Opening night will see a host of delegates from the US film industry along with many of the Irish diaspora living in Los Angeles and leading players from the Irish film industry gather to see Ian Fitzgibbon's fast paced comedy thriller PERRIER'S BOUNTY starring Cillian Murphy and Brendan Gleeson as well as a short programme of silent films played out with a live orchestra.
Other highlights of the four day festival include six feature films telling Irish stories and showcasing Ireland as a tourist location, a tribute to Richard Harris on the closing night with a screening of the iconic Irish film The Field.
Other Irish film screenings will include a host of Irish features, documentaries, animation and shorts including My Brothers, Swansong - The Story of Occi Byrne, A Shine of Rainbows and the documentary The Yellow Bittern.
