Irish Thriller SAVAGE Opens in Additional Cinema Screens

Following its successful cinematic release in Dublin last month, the psychological thriller SAVAGE directed by Brendan Muldowney, is set to open in additional screens around the country.

SAVAGE is an exploration of violence and masculinity following Paul Graynor, an alienated press photographer who lives and works in an unfriendly and threatening city, who becomes victim to a serious crime. Finding himself the subject, rather than the purveyor of an inner city tabloid story, Paul tries to come to terms with his attack, though the scars, both psychological and physical, prove impossible to heal.

Starring Darren Healy (Eamon, Once) and Nora-Jane Noone (The Descent, The Magdelene Sisters), the film was produced by Conor Barry for SP Films and was funded by the IFB/BSÉ.

Film Critics have commented on the film as being "reminiscent of Martin Scorsese's Taxi Driver" from the Sunday Times while Empire have quoted that "Darren Healy delivers a screen-searing turn".

SAVAGE can now be seen in cinemas around the country including the Eye Cinema, Galway, the Gate, Cork, the Omniplex, Limerick, the Gaiety Cinema, Arklow, and the Gaiety Cinema, Sligo.
