IFB-funded short The White Dress to screen in IFI from 5th Nov
Vanessa Gildea's award-winning short film THE WHITE DRESS is set to screen ahead of Clio Barnard's feature The Arbor in the Irish Film Institute (IFI) from Friday 5th November.
THE WHITE DRESS is the story of a girl on her communion day, but unlike most other little girls, she is making her communion all on her own.
Written and directed by Vanessa Gildea, who recently co-produced the feature documentary Dreaming the Quiet Man which is to screen at the Cork Film Festival, the project was produced by David Lawless for Brazen Films Ltd and was funded through the IFB Short Shorts scheme.
The short film has bagged a host of awards since it premiered at the Galway Film Fleadh in 2006, including Best Short Film at the Belfast Film Festival, Best Irish Short at the Seagate Foyle Film Festival and received a Special Recommendation at the Kerry Film Festival as well as an IFTA nomination for Best Short Film. It has also been officially selected for screenings at Cinequest in California, Chicago Irish Film Festival and Dresden Film Festival.
Catch THE WHITE DRESS in the IFI released ahead of feature film The Arbor from this Friday 5th November until Thursday 18th November.
