New Irish Film ‘Parked’ to have World Premiere at Torino Film Festival

The world premiere of the new Irish feature film PARKED directed by Darragh Byrne is to take place on December 2nd at the Torino Film Festival in Italy.

The festival which is held in Turin is the second largest film festival in Italy following the Venice Film Festival and concentrates on "young" cinema with a primary focus on searching out and discovering innovative talents that express the best contemporary trends of international independent cinema.

Written by Ciaran Creagh and starring Colm Meaney, Colin Morgan and Milka Ahlroth, PARKED tells the story of Fred Daly (Meaney) who lives a quiet lonely life in his car until the dope-smoking 21 year old with a positive attitude Cathal becomes his neighbour.  Cathal's infectious energy rubs off on Fred's life and he makes a friend in Jules, an attractive music teacher who lives alone nearby.  As Fred struggles with his pride to tell Jules about his ‘home', Cathal's life is threatened by his escalating drug habit.  As they grow closer, the influence of these three outsiders on each other will change their lives forever.

Produced by Jacqueline Kerrin and Dominic Wright for Ripple World Pictures and Aleksi Bardy for Helsinki-filmi, the film which shot on location in Dublin, was financed by the IFB and Finnish Film Foundation.  Sales are being handled by The Yellow Affair.

PARKED will screen three times at the festival with the world premiere taking place on Thursday December 2nd.
