Eurimage Funding Session for Irish Producers

Renate Roginas Executive Secretary of Eurimages gave a presentation to Irish producers on the 18th of December. The presentation was particularly timely as it followed on the heels of new reforms to the guidelines for Eurimages funding.

Eurimages which has an annual budget of €20 million has benefited Irish producers hugely in the last 10 years. 26 projects have received support of over €8 million. In 2002 alone Irish projects received €1.2 million from Eurimages.

Renate Roginas advised that the upper and lower schemes have been abolished and all applications are now dealt with in the same way. Eurimages can invest 15% of the budget (up to €700,000) and a project can have 30% of its financial investment from outside Eurimages.

She also emphasised that it was very important that all producers intending to apply to the fund would contact Brendan McCarthy at Bord Scannán na hÉireann as he represents Ireland at Eurimages.
