€700K AVAILABLE FOR IRISH FILMS FROM EURIMAGES
Irish film projects can receive up to €700k for their projects under new guidelines from Eurimages. In a December information session organised by BSÉ/IFB, Eurimages Executive Secretary Renate Roginas explained new reforms to the guidelines for funding by Eurimages which has an annual budget of €20 million.
Roginas advised that the upper and lower schemes have been abolished and all applications are now dealt with in the same way. Eurimages can invest 15% of the budget (up to €700,000) and a project can have 30% of its financial investment from outside Eurimages. She also emphasised that it was very important that all producers intending to apply to the fund prepare a very detailed application in concert with BSE/IFB's Head of Production and Development, Brendan McCarthy who represents Ireland at Eurimages.
The rewards are there for the best applications, Eurimages has benefited Irish producers hugely in the last 10 years. 26 projects have received support of over €8 million. In 2002 alone, Irish projects received €1.2 million from Eurimages.
