Award-winning short 'Fairycatcher' to Screen on RTÉ2 Tonight
Fresh from its recent win at the Amiens festival in France, the Irish short film Fairycatcher is set to screen on RTÉ2 tonight Monday 13th December at 11:25pm.
Written and directed by Kealan O'Rourke, Fairycatcher, is the poignant tale of a young fairy named Gwendal, who after witnessing the brutal death of his friend at the hands of a mysterious creature, is captured by the Queen's Fairycatcher. It is then a race against time as the terrified fairy must find a way to escape. Fairycatcher is an atmospheric fable set within a magical and treacherous world unlike any other.
Fairycatcher scooped the Prix des Enfants de la Licorne (Children of the Unicorn Award) for Best European Short Film at the Amiens International Festival, which took place in France last month as well as the top prize at The Bram Stoker Academy Horror Film Festival. It is currently touring the international festival circuit and has been officially selected for festivals all across the globe including Greece, Vancouver, Madrid, Hong Kong, Italy and Portugal to name but a few.
Produced by Adrian Devane for Igloo Productions, the dark fantasy tale was financed through the IFB Signatures short filmmaking scheme.
Catch Fairycatcher on RTÉ2 on Monday 13th December at 11:25pm.
